QR Code Business Card Best Practices (2026)
Print size, contrast, placement, and what your QR should open so scans convert into conversations and leads.
A bad QR is worse than no QR: people try, fail, and throw the card away. Follow these rules so every scan works and lands somewhere useful.
Size and contrast
Keep the QR large enough on print (roughly 2 cm / 0.8 in minimum for short ranges). Use dark modules on a light background. Avoid busy photos behind the code.
Quiet zone
Leave a clear margin around the code. Cropping the quiet zone is a common reason cameras refuse to lock.
Open a live experience, not a PDF
Point the code at your live VoxaCard (ideally the talk link) so content stays current and the agent can help. A static PDF ages the moment you print it.
Test on iOS and Android
Scan with the default camera apps before you order 500 cards. Test indoors and in dim light if the card will be used at evening events.
